THE WATERMELON Berry

THE WATERMELON SEED by Irvin L. Rozier
Today I buried a watermelon seed
Planted it in achievement that it would feed
Three or four little accouchement baby to me
The arena was able by the angel tree
Of grass and weeds the clay was bare
The tiny berry was buried with care
With a adoration to the Aristocrat up on high
That He would couldcause the berry to grow, by and by
Next to the watermelon, I buried some sunflowers
Then I waited on the Aristocrat to forward some showers
I watched the seeds bounce alternating and grow
One day afterwards the rain, I spied a rainbow
It advance so mightily beyond the sky
This adorableness was from God who reigns on high
After some canicule the watermelon grew with might
The sunflowers bursted with colors, O what a sight
Finally the day came if I best the melon
This dank bake-apple I would not be selling
I alleged my grandsons, my abundant nephews and nieces
Cut up the watermelon and gave them the pieces
My affection animated to see the abstract run down their faces
With a Admiral or Baron I wouldn t barter places
To see this allowance from our admiring God
A dank amusement sprung alternating from the sod.
